Thanks to Nick Lim for organizing a half day trip to Sasaran, the location for recent most discussed tourist spot: Sky Mirror.
A chance for Malaysian to get an experience that similar to Bolivia’s salt flats, with much lower budget of course.
The usual team mates, our gathering point at Wave Rest House & Cafe (海。浪滔滔民宿) where they provide tour package to Sky Mirror (Sasaran Beach) and Pulau Angsa (天鹅岛), to 25 February 2017, tour package per person is RM 75, included boat transport to two location mentioned above, light breakfast (fried meehun), oyster knocking and tasting activities.
Rain boots needed for Oyster knocking activity at Pulau Angsa.
20 minutes of boat riding to Sasaran Beach, departed on 8AM in the morning.
Numbers of boats heading to the same location from different ports.
Here is the miracle place, a beach from out of no where, according to our tour guide, estimated size of 3 soccer fields.
The beach will only surface on the sea within certain dates around full moon, which is 初一 and 十五 of Chinese traditional calendar.
According to tour guide, there are number of advertisement and TV scene was taken at this location.
I can see the reason, the infinity view and great reflection makes a natural dramatic scene without much edit.
Use reflection to create different shapes, you can refer to those existing photos at Bolivia’s Salt Flats or Sasaran Beach.
Failed “Happy” pose, it became HHPPY intead.
Random pose with big action will create an interesting shot.
A smiley face.
Such shot can be easily done when there is infinity view.
It is all about synchronization.
In contact with the other self in the mirror.
Great silhouette can be made if there are no such crazy numbers of peoples on this side.
Head of Ant-man, trying to be.
Jump as high as you can.
The beach is surfacing fast, within minutes, reflection will be degrade. Tips is ask tour guide for the exact return time, go far on the opposite side where there are more water to get great reflection.
Very fine sand beach, exact comfortable without shoes, hopefully tourist can keep it clean for the long years to come.
Our wood boat.
Next destination, Pulau Angsa (天鹅岛). Note, no proper toilet here.
Nothing much on the top, just the sea view.
Near noon, tourist are hiding from the sun, light breakfast will be distribute here.
Like a refugees station, you can’t request to go back earlier because it can’t be done, boats can’t get back to the port due to low tide.
Most of them hiding from the sun, we went for oyster knocking.
Same friendly uncle brought us to observe birds that stay at mangrove area on 2 years back.
This is the living oyster, an area with green color on it.
Spot the green colour piece on the middle and that is the living one which you can knock it out, taught by Uncle.
How it looks like inside.
A great experience learned for the day.
Open it up, wash a little bit and you are good to go for eating it, put on some lemon for a better taste.
Shell of oyster are all over the area and it is extremely sharp, although rain boats helps to avoid cuts but it will still cut on hands or legs if not careful.
Waiting for depart to leave Pulau Angsa.
Doesn’t know the name but they live at Mangrove area, lots can be seen here.
Low tide makes the sucks out the water where we need to wait around 10 minutes for water level to increase gradually, then slowly back to the port.
Those the went to Wave Rest House & Cafe (海。浪滔滔民宿) will know him, the owner family, getting more chubby though.
Till next time.
