It’s been a while haven’t use latest iOS product since the iPhone 5S and iPad mini. Current android phones line up doesn’t impressed me much, some comes with either dual-lens or water resistant, some looks 90% iPhone alike and biggest problem still, lousy system update support for all 5 android devices i got for now.
Therefore, give another try to iPhone as the screen size got much larger compose to 5S. The two operating system, Android and iOS has come a long way, from very much different till year 2017, they are now pretty much similar in many ways. In my latest experience, migration is much more easier because contacts are on the clouds, music on Spotify and multimedia such as photos / videos stored on NAS. Most of the Application are available on both devices, signing-in existing user account, everything will be ready to go.
Widget page that similar to what Android got since early years, you can treat it as control for some apps, view weather/stock/calendar info and as shortcut to the actual application.
Rose gold iPhone 7 actually looks kinda pink in real world. Traditional audio jack can nowhere to be found now, it makes the phone looks more solid and one-piece without it.
Home button with haptic feedback, the button itself can’t be pressed down physically, it is the vibration that provide feedback and makes you feel the button been pressed down.
Not much in the box, simple manual, lightning headphone, lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter, apple logo stickers, Sim card pin, charger cable / adapter and iPhone itself. .
For some tips and tricks for iPhone i found from YouTube and webs, refer below:
i) Alarm Volume: iOS: how to detach Alarm Volume from other sound volume
ii) Medical ID: use the Health app to create an emergency card that allows first responders to access your critical medical information from the Lock screen, without needing your passcode. Use any of your unregistered finger to tap on home button for 4-6 times, Passcode page will be display, you will see Emergency at the left bottom, click it -> click on Medical ID and the Emergency card will be shown.
iii) Touch ID: this is getting very common now, especially on iOS product. For Taobao app, you can set it for alipay payment confirmation. New Myabank app allow you to login with touch ID, skip the traditional username and password verification for log-in.
Evernote Touch ID for passcode lock is available for free user too, it allow you to lock the app within a period of time that selected by user, then use fingerprint to unlock again. Setting can be found at Evernote app -> account -> setting -> passcode lock -> set your time and enable unlock with touch id
Iv) Assistive Touch: I found this feature is necessary as i use toggles a lots in Android. The round Assistive Touch button provide easier on-screen volume control, screenshot, lock screen and call out Control Centre, this important on the case where some app have slide-up gesture too, ex: YouTube and Waze that confused the system whether to show app’s interface or iOS notification Centre, assistive touch come in handy in such case.
V) 3D touch: Hard press on left edge of screen for multitasking interface, hard press anywhere on keyboard for touchpad control, hard press on live wallpaper for movement, hard press any app icon for shortcut menu.
